Route and stops

Route 35 is short and direct: it runs down from the station to the convention district through the heart of Santurce. This is the official ATI itinerary in the Sagrado Corazón → Convention Center direction:

  • Sagrado Corazón Station — eastern terminus of the Tren Urbano
  • Ave. Fernández Juncos
  • Parada 18
  • Calle Labra
  • Calle Cerra
  • Calle Hoare
  • Convention Center

The return trip covers the same streets in the opposite direction.

Itinerary as published by ATI. Check the official route map or the Transit app for real-time detail.

Schedule and frequency

Route 35 runs on weekdays only. These are the official ATI times:

Direction Days First trip Last trip
S. Corazón → Convention C. Monday to Friday 5:00 a.m. 8:00 p.m.
Convention C. → S. Corazón Monday to Friday 5:25 a.m. 8:15 p.m.

Frequency: every 30 minutes throughout the day.

⚠️ Route 35 does not run on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays, which is exactly when many Convention Center events take place. If your event falls at the weekend, this bus is no help: see the alternatives below.

AMA schedules may change and are not always met exactly. Check the actual arrival time in the official Transit app before you set off.

Fare

Right now travel is free because fare collection is suspended. When ATI reinstates fares, the price of Route 35 will be:

General fare
$0.75
Student
$0.60
Half fare
$0.35

Payment will be made on boarding, with exact change or with the travel card sold at Tren Urbano stations. The card allows free transfers between train and bus within a 2-hour window.

Tren Urbano connection

Route 35 starts at Sagrado Corazón Station, the eastern terminus of the Tren Urbano and the point in the network served by the most bus routes:

  • 🚆Sagrado Corazón StationRoutes 1, 2, 3, 10, 15, 21, 22, 36 and 45 also stop there
  • 🎪Convention CenterIt has no train station of its own: the bus is the final leg

From Sagrado Corazón the train reaches Bayamón, the other terminus, in about 29 minutes, stopping at Hato Rey, Río Piedras and Centro Médico among others.

Going to an event at the Convention Center

The Puerto Rico Convention Center, in the Miramar district, is the largest venue for trade fairs, congresses and concerts in the Caribbean. Route 35 is the direct link with the train, but it comes with an important limitation: it only runs Monday to Friday.

Since a good share of events take place at the weekend, it is worth knowing which other routes reach the area:

Route Days Usefulness
35 (this one) Mon-Fri only Direct link from the train, every 30 min
21 Mon-Sat and holidays The Saturday option; comes from Old San Juan via Condado
53 Mon-Sat and holidays Calls at the Convention Center on its way to the airport
⚠️ None of the three runs on Sundays. If your event is on a Sunday, public transport does not reach the Convention Center: you will need a car, taxi or ride-hailing app.

Bear in mind as well that the last return trip leaves at 8:15 p.m. For a concert or gala finishing later than that, Route 35 will no longer be running even on a weekday.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Route 35 cost right now?
Nothing. Fare collection on AMA buses and the Tren Urbano has been suspended since March 2024, so riding Route 35 is free. When collection resumes, the general fare will be $0.75.

Weekdays only. It does not run on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays. The first trip from Sagrado Corazón leaves at 5:00 a.m. and the last at 8:00 p.m.
How often does Route 35 run?
Every 30 minutes throughout the day, with no higher or lower frequency bands.
How do I get to the Convention Center on a Saturday?
Take Route 21, which runs Monday to Saturday and on holidays and comes from Old San Juan via Condado, or Route 53 on its way to the airport. Route 35 does not run at weekends. On Sundays no AMA route reaches the area.
