How to Get to Plaza Las Américas from the Urban Train
Plaza Las Américas is the largest shopping mall in the Caribbean, with over 300 stores, restaurants and entertainment. If you travel on the Puerto Rico Urban Train, getting there is very easy from Roosevelt or Hato Rey stations. We explain all available options.

Get off at Roosevelt Station
Take the train toward Sagrado Corazón and get off at Roosevelt Station (also known as the UPR station due to its proximity to the University).
Take the exit toward Avenida Roosevelt
When leaving the station, look for the exit that takes you to Avenida Franklin Delano Roosevelt. You will see signs pointing toward Plaza Las Américas.
5-8 minute walk
Walk along Avenida Roosevelt heading east. You will cross Calle Guayacán and arrive directly at the main entrance of Plaza Las Américas. You will see the distinctive building on your left.

Enter through the main entrance and enjoy over 300 stores, restaurants and Caribbean Cinemas.
🚌 Option 2: From Hato Rey Station (Alternative)
If you are coming from the Hato Rey area or prefer a route with less walking, you can get off at Hato Rey Station and take an AMA bus that will drop you off at the mall entrance.

If you come from other stations and need to connect with a bus, the NFC card allows free transfers for 2 hours.

The walk from Roosevelt is short but outdoors. If it rains, consider the bus option from Hato Rey or bring an umbrella.
Best time to visit
Weekends and holidays are busiest. Visit on weekdays to avoid crowds, especially during peak hours (5:00-7:00 PM).

Is there an Urban Train station inside Plaza Las Américas?
No. The nearest station is Roosevelt, 5-8 minutes walking away. There is no station inside the mall, but the walk is safe and well-signposted.
Is it safe to walk from Roosevelt Station?
Yes. Avenida Roosevelt is a main road with good lighting and constant traffic. It is a common route for UPR students and shoppers. However, as in any urban area, take basic precautions.
Can I bring shopping bags on the Urban Train?
Yes. The Urban Train allows shopping bags and backpacks. Just avoid blocking aisles or doors with your purchases during the trip. There are no size restrictions for normal shopping bags.
How much time should I plan for the round trip?
From the Hato Rey area: ~30 minutes round trip. From Bayamón: ~1 hour round trip. Note that the train operates until 11:30 PM, but Plaza closes at 9:00 PM (Mon-Sat) or 7:00 PM (Sun).
