There is no official Tren Urbano app. The one that used to be around, Guawa, is no longer published on Google Play or the App Store: we checked in August 2026 and its listing does not appear on either store.
What you can do is install this website on your phone. It gets added to your home screen with its own icon, opens full screen like any other application and keeps working even when you have no data or no signal.
It is free, there is no sign-up and nothing is downloaded from any store.
Is there an official Tren Urbano app?
No. As of August 2026 there is no official Tren Urbano application on the app stores. The one many riders remember, Guawa, has been pulled: its listing returns an error on both Google Play and the App Store, and searching for it by name brings up nothing of theirs.
That leaves a lot of people searching for a «Tren Urbano app» and landing on dead links. This is why the site is set up to fill that gap: it installs like an application and keeps on your phone what riders actually check every day, which is the map, the schedule, the fares and the travel time.
If an official application is released in the future, we will say so here.
How to install it on Android
- Open this site in Chrome.
- Tap the three-dot menu at the top right.
- Choose Install app (some versions show it as Add to Home screen).
- Confirm with Install. The icon lands next to the rest of your apps.
If you are browsing on your phone, the site itself may offer to install it with a prompt at the bottom of the screen. You can accept it there and skip the steps above.
How to install it on iPhone or iPad
- Open this site in Safari. On iPhone and iPad the install only works from Safari, not from Chrome.
- Tap the Share button, the square with the arrow pointing up.
- Scroll down the list and choose Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add at the top right.
The icon will show up on your home screen and the site will open without the browser bar, just like a downloaded application.
What works offline
As soon as you install it, your phone saves the main pages in English and Spanish on its own: home, map, schedule, fares, stations, travel time calculator and AMA buses. They stay available even if you run out of data.
- Whatever you open gets saved. Any other page you visit is stored on the phone and you will be able to open it again later with no connection.
- With signal you always get the current version. The app asks the internet for the page first and only falls back to the saved copy if the connection fails or takes more than five seconds to answer.
- If a page is missing and there is no signal, you get a screen of our own with shortcuts to the map, schedule, fares, travel time and stations, instead of the browser error.
