San Juan – Cataño Route

This Puerto Rico Ferry route takes you from San Juan to Cataño in 12 minutes. Ferries depart from the Old San Juan pier and dock at the Cataño pier.

Passengers board a vessel known by several names: the Cataño Ferry, the Lancha de Cataño, or AquaExpreso.

The following fares apply to the San Juan – Cataño route by passenger age.

Updated: From January 1, 2026, by PRITA order, the Metro Service fare increased. The updated fare is:

  • Infants (0-2 years): Free
  • General public (3-59 years): $2.00
  • Senior (60-70 years): $1.00
  • Senior+ (71 years and over): Free
  • Persons with disabilities: $1.00

Ceiba – Vieques Route

The Ceiba – Vieques route connects the Ceiba Ferry Terminal with the Isabel Segunda pier (Puerto Real) in Vieques. The trip takes approximately 40-45 minutes on the passenger ferry (up to 1 hour on the cargo ferry with passengers).

Vieques is famous for its bioluminescent bay —one of the brightest in the world—, its pristine beaches like Playa Sun Bay, and its National Wildlife Refuge. The ferry is the most affordable option to reach the island.

It is recommended to arrive at least 1 hour before departure and buy tickets online at puertoricoferry.com or in the Puerto Rico Ferry app, especially on weekends and peak season.

Ceiba – Vieques Schedule

The Ceiba – Vieques ferry operates with several daily departures in both directions. There are generally morning and afternoon sailings.

The one-way fares for the Ceiba – Vieques route are:

The Ceiba – Culebra route connects the Ceiba Ferry Terminal with the Dewey pier in Culebra. The trip takes approximately 1 hour on the passenger ferry (up to 1 hour 30 minutes on the cargo ferry).

Culebra is home to Playa Flamenco, considered one of the best beaches in the world, the Culebra National Wildlife Refuge, beaches like Tamarindo and Zoni, and coral reefs ideal for diving and snorkeling. The ferry is the most affordable way to reach the island.
