Route 36 AMA: Sagrado Corazón – Llorens Torres

Route 36 connects Sagrado Corazón Station on the Tren Urbano with the Luis Llorens Torres housing development, running along Calle Loíza and Avenida Eduardo Conde. On weekdays it comes every 20 minutes, one of the best frequencies in the network.

💚 Service is currently free of charge. Fare collection on AMA buses and the Tren Urbano has been suspended since March 2024. You do not need to pay or carry a card to ride Route 36.

Route and stops

Route 36 runs east across Santurce along the Calle Loíza corridor. This is the official ATI itinerary in the Sagrado Corazón → Llorens Torres direction:

Route 36 runs on weekdays only. These are the official ATI times:

⚠️ Good frequency, but weekdays only. Its 20 minutes during core hours is among the best in the AMA network, yet it does not run on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays. To get around Calle Loíza at the weekend you need route 45, which heads for Piñones and Loíza.

Right now travel is free because fare collection is suspended. When ATI reinstates fares, the price of Route 36 will be:

Payment will be made on boarding, with exact change or with the travel card sold at Tren Urbano stations. The card allows free transfers between train and bus within a 2-hour window.

Route 36 only meets the train at one end: Sagrado Corazón Station. The Llorens Torres and Calle Loíza area has no station nearby:

To travel from the housing development to the rest of the metropolitan area the link is always the same: this bus to Sagrado Corazón and then the train, which reaches Hato Rey, Río Piedras, Centro Médico and Bayamón.
